The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is contemplating reintroducing a fixed daily funding scheme for banks to address unpredictable liquidity fluctuations. These challenges stem from the RBI's substantial forex interventions and inconsistent government spending. Senior bankers and RBI officials are scheduled to meet next week to discuss a revised liquidity management framework, which could influence interest rates, bank lending, and overall economic growth. 


India's Fiscal Deficit Reaches 85.8% of Annual Target: 

India's fiscal deficit for April-February stood at ₹13.47 trillion (approximately $157.62 billion), accounting for 85.8% of the annual target. Net tax receipts during this period were ₹20.16 trillion, or 78.8% of the yearly goal, indicating growth from the previous year's ₹18.49 trillion. Government expenditure totaled ₹38.93 trillion, with capital expenditure reaching ₹8.12 trillion.

Government Criticizes X Over 'Censorship Portal' Label:

 The Indian government has rebuked Elon Musk's X for labeling an official website designed to notify tech companies about harmful online content as a "censorship portal." This dispute has intensified the legal tussle between X and India's authorities, with the government asserting that the site merely facilitates prompt communication of due diligence obligations to tech firms.

US Trade Officials Visit India Amid Tariff Concerns:
