The TET cum Recruitment Exam for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) and Graduate Teachers (GT) in Assam is an important step in the state's education sector recruitment process, aiming to fill thousands of teaching vacancies under the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam.
Exam Details
1. Recruitment Process:
The exam combines Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certification and recruitment evaluation into a single process.
It applies to teaching positions in various schools across Assam.
2. Vacancies:
Graduate Teachers (GT): 8230 posts.
Post Graduate Teachers (PGT): 1487 posts.
3. Eligibility:
GT: Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed.
PGT: Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject and a B.Ed.
4. Age Limit:
21 to 38 years, with age relaxation is available for SC/ST (5 years), OBC/MOBC (3 years), PwD (10 years), and Ex-Servicemen (2 years).
Medium of Exam:
Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, and English.
No Negative Marking.
Salary:
TGT: ₹14,000–₹70,000 (Grade Pay: ₹8,700)
PGT: ₹22,000–₹97,000 (Grade Pay: ₹11,800)
Selection Process:
1. Written Exam: Based on the syllabus outlined above.
2. Interview
3. Final Merit: Selection is conducted in a 1:1 ratio for vacancies.
Additional Weightage:
5% marks for candidates with prior TET certification but not appointed.
Extra marks for NCC, sports, fine arts, and cultural activities.
